opinions please...

i am in the final stages of purchasing my first DIESEL.....(only cummins will do)

it is a 24v so i got the mind made up to go Guages and fuel system right away...got the guages under wraps...but which LP set up do i go?

everyone seems to say FASS....why. 700 smackers...is it really THAT GOOD. what if i dont plan to bomb it...a chip at max. so do i really need the 150/95 FASS

what about the glacier with a walbro...half the price. what about doing a big line kit with the stocker...what about doing a big line with 2 inline stockers...etc etc etc...

please advise.

thanks

I like the price of the Glacier unit but I want the filtration of the Fass, match the two somewhere in between and you have yourself a deal!!

I went with the Glacier / Walbro GFS-392 over the 391, for a few more dollars, just in case I wanted more HP in the future. Very little drop from 20 lbs fuel pressure @ WOT. Also bought a filter to go with it. Great fuel delivery system that's adjustable.

I went with the vulcan relo kit with the carter setup, Its a great kit for the price(that is if you have a decent carter or cummins pump to begin with!) It eliminates all of the banjo fittings and replaces them with AN type fittings, plus all of the fuel line is 1/2" dia. line. Having line that big really lets the fuel flow. Dont get me wrong i would love to have a FASS but its hard to justify spending that much money too my wife!! My truck has a pretty mild program so its kind of overkill on my truck at this point but I plan on getting an edge comp a little later on when I can afford it. Right now I have 16psi @idle and 15psi runnning down the highway and 12 @WOT. I have never pulled it below 12psi and my programmer is set on stage 3.

I went with the Valcan big line kit and located it back on the frame rail. This gets it away from constant vibration and MUCH easier to replace/sevice. I installed a ball type shutoff valve to make replacing "dry" on my shirt sleeves. As mentioned you get 1/2" fuel line all the way to the IP and no restrictive banjo fittings left in the system. Cost is like $125. Takes a couple of hours to install. Use your existing pump and get another to put under your back seat for a spare! When you go for more HP all the basics are ready for your new setup.

ok..i like those options thanks...

i am kinda leaning towards..going a little combo action here...i am wondering if i can go Vulcan Big Line and Walbro GSL-392 (correct part number) my reason for wondering if it is doable....is this, the kit that is offered by Glacier comes with 3/8" and Vulcan is 1/2" so fittings are the concern at the in and out ends of the walbro....

suggestions.

i mean i love the 20psi Ramitklown is getting and if i decide to add any "goodies" then i know i got the you know what to support it. but after researching the glacier system i KNOW i can piece it together for less....pump is only 120....and big line kit is 120 that makes 240 at least when i was in school....so whats the hang up and why are there not more people doing it this way?????

thoughts.

From a thread I started on the same subject yesterday. Here's a list of options (I'm going to be using one of them in the middle here ):

Well Known Lift Pump Solutions - Most Expensive First - Google For More Info

1. FASS - about $650 for top of the line setup
2. The Air Dog System - about $600
3. Wicked Diesel's Eliminator setup - about $600
4. Glacier Diesel Power's Walbro kit - about $370
5. Wide Open Diesel's AFS Big Dog Fuel System - about $320
6. BD Diesel Performance Lift Pump Kit - OEM Replacement - about $250
7. Wide Open Diesel's Do It Yourself Walbro Kit - about $170
8.. Vulcan's Pusher Pump system - about $120
9. R & R w/"factory" lift pump - about $70

Vulcan Performance or Wide Open Diesel can make that happen with 1/2" line. The only thing is the inlet and outlet on the Walbro. They are 10mm fittings and are a little smaller. Also if you are wanting 1/2" line to the tank you will have to install a Draw Straw.

chuxtruk- those are just the electronic solutions. How about the rasp, mitusa, or f-1 mechanical setups? And the cheapest solution is just adding a pusher pump.

I've run the vulcan setup and it worked great.
