not making that much power!
not making that much power!
I have a 96 with an auto and goerend converter, #8 plate at about 2/3rds the way forward, afc turn up, htt 60mm compressor wheel and housing, k&n, staight pipe, 3.55's and 285/75/16 bfg's. I waited to turn up the pump a little until I got the converter in and when I did I pulled the afc housing off to move the stock fuel plate forward and found a one piece plate that said the #8 so I mark the location and moved it up a little. when I hit the skinny pedal it smokes some then cleans up with just a slight haze but doesnt seem to be making the power it should and I was wondering what some of you might think it should be making as far as power. any advice or thoughts would be great. thanks
With a number 8 plate not all the way forward I wouldn't expect any neck snapping power. If it is fairly strong with that combination that would seem right to me. A more aggressive plate all the way forward would make more of a seat of the pants kind of improvement.
thanks for the input. I need to check fuel pressure but, was able to get 33 psi on yhe way to work this morning. I'll probably put a 3k spring in unless ya'll think a 4k would be best.I also have a new set of 50 hp injector. nothing earth shattering but, thats hat I have. thanks
I would go with the 4k GSK kit, you will need to do 60lb vlave springs at the same time, it just saves doing it twice! I have a set going into my truck in the next two weeks. Put the injectors in, if you have them you will like the additional power.
