New trans and rear end

I have a 95 12 valve. I had a n06 fuel plate put in for some more power. Would like to get a better heavy duty tranny. Where do I start checking? Also with a heavier trans how much horse can you add before needing a heavier rear end? And where would I find one? All kinds of questions huh. Am new to this site and LOVE IT.

Welcom to the site
If you fill in your sig it will help others to know what you have.
If you have a auto there are many places you can deal with and most have links as site sponsors. You can call and talk to the different ones and pick the one that works best for you. As for a stick you should probably just need a better clutch.
I have not heard of anyone hurting a diff with out trying yet so.....

You need to fill in your Sig so we can see what you have done to your truck. You should do a search here on trannies and you will find all the info you will need. I don't think you will have a problem with your rearend but your tranny will need upgrading to handle your 12V after a little BOMBING

Well, what you need to do is get on the phone to the "big 4" tranny dealers. Three of them are here: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...y=Transmission
The other one not there is Goerend Brothers Transmissions. (www.gbtransmissions.com) . Spend some time on the phone and see who gives you the 'most bang for your buck'. The prices range from about $2500 to $4500 for a good tranny.

Thanks for the info guys. After looking at the websites, Im thinking I need a new converter at least. I guess the best thing to do is to get someone to tear into the tranny and go from there. Thanks again. Love this site.

BD sells built transmissions that can handle all the horsepower you want to put throught the they have heavy duty and all out race transmissions. Just a little advice I wouldnt spend the thousands of dollars at a transmission shop get a replacement tranny from professionals who know how to build a transmission for a Diesel

Agree with above...do some homework before you do anything...especially adding just a converter! Not usually the best way to go. You can read why here...if interested?

Can't speak for others (no experience with them) but a full DTT Tranny Rebuild will take you to at least 600 HP with no problems! They are in your area.

If you can afford it...the full rebuild IS the way to go...You truck will thank you for it!

No need to be concerned about the rear end until much later...600 HP ++.
