Well i got the new higher stall converter in and took it for a test ride tonight. Theres no low end grunt at all. You cant hardly tell it shifts with out watching the tach. I ran it hard locking it up instantly with a 15-18 lb launch and i liked it. I could only launch at 8lbs befor cause of tight converter but rpm gain was so slow till 3rd. Im gonna hit the track tomorro night and see if we can get a low 12 or mabey nkock on 11s door.

 

why would you put a higher stall converter on a diesel?

 

To spool big singles. WIth the 1200 stall i couldnt get more than 8 lbs of boost to launch, now i can hold the brake and build all the boost i want cause the truck wont lunge like it did befor.

 

sounds like your single is still too big and you f'ed up on the converter choice
