For those of you who have a Donaldson/Nelson muffler. I'm looking to get one for my 5" straight pipe. I'd like it to be a little louder than stock with a nice deep tone. The straight pipe was a lot louder than I expected. Although it's kinda fun when people in my neighborhood stop and look 25 feet before I approach them thinking a big rig is coming by.

How loud is it going to be (compared wtih stock) if I put a 51" long (45" body length) x 10" wide Donaldson on there?

What do you recommend? Any part numbers?

I don't have the numbers, but just about any local truck shop in my area could sell me that muffler all day long. It is the normal stack muffler used on medium duty trucks, with the stock 5" inlet and outlet. You will love the sound. My 4" version sounds very nice, without all of the noise. The 5" is a little louder, deeper in tone, without some of the raspiness I have with mine. The stock 3" downpipe necked up to 4" for the inlet, with an aftermarket 4" tailpipe. When I free up the downpipe, then I will have that awesome truck sound I am looking for!! My AP3891 fit in the exact space of the stock resonator & muffler, making the install a snap. My muffler is a 9", though -- there should still be room for the 10". Enjoy!!

For a 5 inch inlet/outlet muffler go with an M090535 muffler.
