Need to level truck

My truck sits lower in the front. I don't put much weight behind me so the rear stays the same height. What is the best way to lift the front an inch or two. Coil spacers?

Re:Need to level truck

I added the skyjacker d25 coils and they did the trick. Improved the ride as well. Cost about $140.

Re:Need to level truck

i went with the leveling spacers before i heard about the springs. they were about $120 and keep the ride the same. i dont know if the springs would sag over time which is why i didnt send the spacers back in favor of the springs. they cost close to the same so i think it would be a matter of preference.

I went with the spacers too (Tuff Country $129) and also have used 'em on previous trucks. The ride and steering geometry stay the same. As with any suspension lift, the driveline angle changes a bit - but it's not significant on this big of a vehicle. No problems. ;D

Best to y'all
Bill

Re:Need to level truck

I found a 1" steel spacer. Any problems with the steel spacers compared to the Daystar poly spacers?

Good question, Mark. I've wondered the same.

I used the Poly once and it seemed just fine. My current mechanic claims the steel are better - I'm not so sure.

Frankly, the decision for me was:

2" Daystar Poly = $169
2" Tuff Country Steel = $129

Best to y'all
Bill

I have got the steel ones as well. Worked great. I now put on the winch and bumper and I think I need to get taller springs. Sits almost at stock.

I can get a 1" or a 2" steel one. Which would make it the most level? I don't want it to high in the front.

Re:Need to level truck

The two inch will be real close to level, but not quite. It still will be a little lower in front. I imagine the 1" will be 1 " lower.

Re:Need to level truck

i had poly spacers o my jeep tj from daystar. they worked great, but after some hard core wheelin (real hard) they would squeak a little. by no means was it irritating enough to make you want to get rid of them, but you could hear it over the howl of bfg muds. that didnt sway my decision to get steel spacers. it was a matter of cost. daystars are about 169-189, and i got the 2" steel spacers made by tuff country at www.jackit.com they've beem around for a long time and made thier name by collecting the best components from several lift kits and selling an entire kit with all the best parts. i dont think they do this as much anymore due to all lifts being high quality nowadays. just my .02.

Re:Need to level truck

If you don't want to raise the front you can lower the back for less money. Go to any suspension outfit which "lifts" Ford super duties. Get the discarded stock lift blocks and U bolts, preferrably taken off a new truck. It'll lower the rear by 2" and you'll get stronger U bolts as an added bonus.

Re:Need to level truck

What!!! Raise the front, dont lower the rear. I like it when I tower down on people. I also think that is more work to do rear leaves than the front coils. I have done many lifts and if you torch the u bolts, which most people do, it may be faster. But dont lower the truck. If you want to lower the truck, go get a dura crap. That sits lower.
