Well here are some pictures of the ladders bars I made. It started out as only one set for me, then my friends found out and I ended up making 6 sets of them 2 3rd gens 2 2nd gens a 1/2 ton hemi truck and a powerstroke. Next time I decide to make something I am keeping it a secret till I am done. LOL I haven't even got my set finished and on the truck yet. Materials ran my around $180.

Looks great. Once you get them set I would weld them to the axle, but thats just me I dont quite trust clamps. I have seen spring pirches slip that were not welded and the axle turned and broke the pinion. Those look realy good, nice job. I know how it is to always do for others and never get your oun done. I'm sure they havent put off working on there trucks to help on yours.

 

id say if your gonna be pulling with those you should prolly weld them to the axle IMO

I was planning on tack welding them to the axle to make sure they didn't move. They are right around 68" long. I used .120" wall tubing. If they don't hold up I will start over with heavier tubing.

What did you use to make the red bushings or did you buy the bushings someplace ?

I finally my set of bars finished and on the truck. Here are a few pics. I am not really happy with how low they are a redesign might be in order.

Can you tell me what bushing you got and how many? Sounds like this is going to be a winter project for myself.
