so has anyone mounted a cone shaped air filter straight to the turbo housing and done away with the air filter assy.? pros...cons... would it be damaging to the turbo or motor in any way? i am guessing it would sound wicked.

 

That'd suck a whole lotta hot air, and hot air doesn't make power...

 

Bingo-- you don't want the hot air off the exhaust manifold. You want colder air.

..Except in the winter....

 

the filter would fall appart from the heat and get sucked into the turbo.don't ask me how i know.
