hmm 2 gallons is quite a little bit. Have you checked your radiator or overflow to make shure it's not a headgasket?

Check your intercooler for oil residue if your shaft is leaking.

Like stated, pull radiator cap and look at the surface of the coolant for oil. Is the drain plug missing?

12 valves are 11 quarts with the filter prefilled.

Just because you watched doesn't mean it was full. I can't believe that you went thru 8 quarts of oil. Just me.

Fill it and run it a few miles then check it before you start throwing parts at it.
If it is not leaking it from the outside and it is not crossing over to the cooling system then must be going out the tailpipe . Are you sure you have no leaks from head gasket, crank seal's,timing cover, valve covers, power steering/vacume pump, or out the breather tube (crankcase vent) ?
To burn up that amount of oil i would think a cracked piston or rings or the turbo seals are long gone either one should make a very big blue smoke trail with that amount of oil loss. Look into your exhaust and see if it looks wet or oily ? Check for a large amount of blowby with the engine running.
