Question Metal thickness for BHAF heat shield?

Ok,
Tried the search on "BHAF and Heat Shield". Got lots of good advice and pics on both. Couldn't find what I was looking for however: what is a good thickness of material to use for the heat shield?
Lowes/Home Depot had aluminum that was .025" thick or steel in 16 gauge. These looked flimsy, will they work?

Thanks,
~Rob

I'd go for thicker.

I think mine is 1/8".

Thanks Phox,
That's what I was thinking. IMHO, your pic of just the heat shield installed and the pic of the heatshield, outerwear and filter should be in the tech facts section with the BHAF stuff. They are worth a thousand words (apiece).

I used 1/8" for mine also. Not flimsy at all.

For Sale items aren't welcome in the forums, there is a classified section just for that purpose

I just checked out Phox's pics. I like his better than the turbo covers on the link. Nice job there, Phox.
