MBRP Exhaust System

I guess I'm getting old, but the straight pipe is getting too loud. I was looking at the MBRP turbo back system. My truck is a 99 2500, RV275 Injectors, Edge EZ Box and Jake Brake. How is the noise level of the MBRP compared to the straight pipe? Any other suggestions for something that sounds good, but is not as loud? Thanks.

Good system, nice sound. Still has a good rasp at higher RPM runs.

I haven't had straight pipes, so I can't comment on them. But, the MBRP got rid of the in cab drone on freeway trips.

It has a nice deep sound. I like the system. I say go for it.

"Limo tint on all glass, windshield full mirror"

the limo tint on the windows is chancy, I have it myself, but the mirror tint on the windshield, you can get tickets for causing accidents with that, I'm not sure about the state law where your from, but in colorado where I have tinted for a lil that is a very stiff fine and if for some reason someone says you shot a glare into their eye while driving that caused their accident, its all on you. I bet it looks cool tho, got any pics?

I have the 5" and it's pretty loud. Has a definite growl at low RPM and gets even better at higher. have a video on youtube.

I went from stock to 4" MBRP and didn't think it was too much louder than stock, but the quality of the sound is much better: sounds like a truck now. The only bad point is you find yourself rolling down the windows on bridges so you can hear it.

I like mine, its still loud when you get on it, but at Hwy speeds it gets quieter and there isn't a drone.

Not much louder than stock??? In the Cab, sure, but on the street, not even close. The noise is supposed to come out the hole at the end. For me you get the tone when you need it and its not the obnoxious rasp of a straight pipe. I use my truck for business, so having it not waking up the neighbors at 5 am is a plus..

Mine is currently stock pipe / straight piped. I was thinking about mounting one of those electrical bull horns at the tailpipe (who cares about a chrome tip anyway ), and power it from the truck. My straight pipe is not loud enough.

Any thoughts?

the MBRP sounds good, if its not loud enough for you, just drop another $45 and get the delete pipe.

Nah, you're looking at 2 hours tops. Great system. Guess you'll have to spend the rest of it drinking to your good job.
