Massive Defueling ...... HELP!!!

I am trying to get the last of the bugs worked out after doing my 6 speed to auto swap. I am having massive defuel at 2000 rpm. If i powerbrake it, it will rev to 2k in a hurry blowing lots of smoke, then as it crosses 2k, its like someone throws a switch and the power and smoke is gone. It WILL NOT break the tires loose from a stop under any circumstance! If i try to launch just before hitting 2k it will accelerate to 2100, cut power, rev to 2300, cut power, rev to 2500, cut power all the way up to 2900, then pull strong to 3100ish. Any ideas at all on what i can do???

Thanks
- D

Is the torque mgmt system on the 6ers the same as on the autos? Maybe its pulling power for that reason. Scott

Are you throwing any codes?

I would diagnose with a scanner SD if I were you.

Also if you able to power brake to 2k rpm's and not break the tires loose your going to be hating your 60' times. Anything above 1200 rpm's and my truck is painting black lines.

I am going to go to dodge tomorrow and hook up the odbIII. do you think i could benifit from a software reflash?

you are running stock (or close to) tire size right? I am assuming that is going to take a few more r's to get my 37's going. are you breaking loose without boost? I can only build a few pounds before it smacks me down. I also am not running anything big for injectors at the moment.... just supermentals

Did you swap injector pumps when you transfered over too? Whether you reflash or not you still need to see what codes are set. In the past there have been others that haven't liked the reflash.

I am only running 305/70/16 tires but if you would like we can put your 37's on the back and I can show you my point. lol

The 37" tires will hurt performance. On the dyno and the sttreet.

I noticed a 25 h.p. loss when I put on 36" swamps with 3:55 gears, also if you do some digging around in posts, you will find that most of the most violent de-fueling issues, come from people with highly modified trucks running oversize tires. I'm going to see if these problems are going to be fixed by marco with new ecm. SD when you go to dealer today, have the tech plug in the drbIII, go into the abs mode, he will see two preset tire size values 265 and 285, then below that he will see other, go into that screen and it will say blank rev's per mile, you need to call les schwab to find out that rev per mile for the 37. its 599 for 35" Hope this helps

Well I guess that rules the pump out, did you set any codes?

SD,

Buy a RAD box from BD Power! Until you do, it will always defuel.
