I just bought a Mag-Hytec tranny pan for my truck and I can't believe how heavy the thing is. I may return it and just install a drain plug in my OEM pan. That's the main reason I bought the Mag-Hytec too facilitate servicing the tranny. I'm concerned that the weight of this pan might cause stress on the pan bolt threads in the tranny housing over time.

 

DTT installs them on every tranny they sell. Mine has been on for 70,000 miles. They are supposed to actually strengthen the tranny.

 

Don't worry about the weight.....it'll be just fine!

They work great and the additional supply of ATF allows cooler fluid to be returned to the tranny. Makes changing ATF a breeze...like you said!
