Question Mad ECM ?

I've been thinking about a Mad ECM. Will this help improve my mileage (providing I can control myself)? An most importantly, will I be ok with my auto trans? I'm completely stock with the exception of the AFE Stage1 I have coming. I am on a quest to improve my fuel mileage. I'm getting under 14 with 50/50 city/highway and my lead foot.

It won't hurt your mileage, mine has stayed the same so long as you control your foot, but it won't do your stock tranny any good..A mad ecm lets the available power hit sooner, and I doubt your stock trans will handle all that torque at once. Better fix that first..When I started down this wild road, the trans was the first thing I replaced..Around 4k or so from any # of good builders..

My interstate mpg went up considerably... but the rural and city mpg went down considerably.
Would I give the CaTCHER up? NEVER!

dennis,
I agree with fmf mx the first things i would do is guages then a tranny and then the mad ecm . this is why i dont have one yet and also i got my van aakens in a trade but im really looking hard at the mad ecm after i get the tranny done . if you can rebuild the tranny your self you will be able to save your self some money.

100Hp injectors, HX40, Catcher. A stock tranny gave up after 1500 miles. TCC was burned...

Be advised...
