Lower EGT's
Lower EGT's
I modified my Dad's 96 4X4 Dually with 4.10:1 ratioand the auto with an AFE, number 6 plate, and an AFC spring kit. While trailering his boat which weighs 17,500 on the trailer the EGT's will get to 1,500 Degrees on a long hill. Is there anyway to lower the Temps without moving the plate(less Power)??

When towing, it keeps you on your toes. Pulling back on the pedal will help cool things off, but I would like to be able to avoid that. This truck is a HOSS, she doesn't slow down no matter how big of a hill-70MPH!!!

Ok guys no one has said it... Get twins!!! HX40/35 with a HT3B. Long periods of time (more then 1 min) at 1500 degrees will cause huge problems. I would go with the afe, more filter surface. I would aslo bump the timing to around 15.5 degrees.
If you are only hitting 1500 with a load that big I think the truck is doing very well!!!
