I am about to tow my 30' gooseneck camper about 250 miles. When I towed it to where it sits now I had a #11 plate. Now with the 10 my EGTs with no load can get up to the 1400 range. What would be best, to install a valet switch or to just baby the truck? And will a HX40 compressor upgrade do that much for performance and lower EGTs?

 

Just control your right foot and downshift when necessary.

 

Thank you for your reply. As far as the hx40 compressor wheel and housing goes, worth the few hundred? Or just save for a replacement?

What's your rpm when you hit those temps? Is it normal to be able to reach those temps with a #10? I never seem to be able to.
