Low Fuel Pressure in '01 Follow-up
Well, I ordered a GFS-392 fuel system from Glacier Diesel and installed it last weekend after noticing my fuel pressure drop and get erratic. The kit from Glacier was really nice and had everything I needed for a clean (except for the diesel fuel shower) installation.
Well...got everything hooked up and I couldn't figure it out....I still had around 8-8.5psi? I thought I read the Walbro system was set for around 20-22psi? After some trouble shooting I figured out that it was the diaphragm installed between the fuel feed off of the filter housing and the fuel gauge. I took it apart and didn't notice anything abnormal? Sprayed everything down with starting fluid and blew dry with compressed air. Put the thing back together and reinstalled and pressure went right to 18-19psi. After driving for a few days it now sits around 20-21psi at idle and never drops below 15psi even at WOT. It kind of sucks that the lift pump wasn't really bad but at least now I don't have to be paranoid about it failing and taking out the VP.
Thanks for everyones help here.
