I'm kindof in the same boat. Although the current horns on my truck (factory I believe) can be heard with the engine running they sound like they should be on a '73 VW Beetle. I've got a full size 3/4 ton truck; I want horns that sound like they should be on a full size truck!

Are there any deeper toned horns that I can replace the factory setup with? I have plans for a set of Grovers in the future but I want a "normal" set of horns for day to day use.

Horn mounting

Mounted them there so they would be out of the weather & closer to the idiot to which thier melodious sound is directed.

A friend of mine put this kit on his F-150:

I can tell you they are insanely loud. My friend is a policeman but still likes to blow them at RR crossings right after the gate lifts, then pees himself laughing. Yes he is a sick puppy.

I work on a pierce fire engine and can tell you, they are extremely loud. People get out of your way. A Captain I work with talked to the mechanics that work on our engine and got them to order it for him. He put it on his F550, and it is so loud, you'll look around for the fire engine, and realize it's just him.

Try one of the horns on this website, I'd say their even louder than the pierce's:

Talking ferry horns

After reading the posts it reminded me of a video thats floating around the net of a guy who installed ferry horns on his truck.

Link removed due to profanity in linked comments
