Hi. I want to put a converter lock-up switch on my 00 truck, and I heard that the 2000 wiring is slightly different that the diagram on the TST site. Thx.

Don't mean to hijack this thread. But how hard is this on the drivetrain ?

I'm very interested in doing this on my 95, as i have an issue with my TPS, and the tranny kicks down when there is weight on it, and this is killing my gas mileage.

Thanks in advance !

It is not hard on your drive train at all unless you allow it to lug down. The lockup switch will lock the torque converter which will cut down on the heat made through liquid coupling.

The lock-up switch can be extremely hard on the TC clutch if you operate it with the clutch locked up at lower engine RPM. The lock-up clutch is hydraulically applied, so as the RPM drops, so does the line pressure and therefore the apply force. Without enough apply force, the clutch can't hold the lock-up anymore and results in slipping. Slipping = bad. I would not use the lock-up switch below about 1400-1500 RPM.

The switch for me would be only in 4th while towing ...

So ... if the switch were engaged in 3rd ... and used through shifting .. would that be hard on the TC ? .. don't know that i've watched my RPM's during a shift ... but i think it shifts to right around 1400rpm (on the upshift)

Thanks in advance !

Look in my gallery, I have directions on about three ways to do this. Works awsome. I use mine mostly when towing, if I lift off the throttle for a second it won't unlock. If you lock up in 1st or second and keep it locked through all the gears it is very hard on the input shaft. To get lockup in all the gears you will need to have a modded VB. The stocker will lock in 3rd and OD.
