Lock Up??
Lock Up??
From what I have been told I am already pretty close to the limit of what my stock TC can handle, and I have no intention of replacing it before it goes south. But I would like to know more about the feasability of a "Lock up switch". Where are you guys getting these?? How do you use them?? It is my understanding that you flip a switch at or about 2000 rpm so as to put all the power to the wheels rather than losing out from TC slipage? Is this correct?? At what RPM does should the factory TC go into lock up?? Also I have been told that with the AT it will help with the effectiveness of my EB??
It is a better idea to replace the TC and the valve body BEFORE the TC starts slipping. After it slips, the risk of catastrophic failure becomes almost a definite. If you do it before it starts slipping, you can save the tranny by keeping the material that is sheared off of the liner of the TC from clogging the valve body and lubrication ports. It is something to think about. 2K vs 3.5K

I havent noticed any real problems with my stock TC yet but would still like to get off the line a little faster when I am messing with my buddies as well as making my EB work more effectively!
