Question lift kits & sag kits?

I'm looking to put in a lift kit of 2-3 inches but am also told that there is a "sag" kit available that will take the nose sag out caused by the diesel engine weight...a set of spacers that pick the nose up about 2" to level out the truck. Does anyone have any experience with the "sag" kits? Can they be combined with a standard lift kit? Are there problems to watch out for that may not be readily apparant? I believe that as long as the lift kit is three inches or less there is no need to change brake lines etc. .... is this correct?

Many thanks...

If you order a 2 inch or 3 inch LIFT kit, it will lift the front 2 or 3 inches, and the rear probably only an inch. If you get a 2" LEVELING kit, it only lifts the front 2". They are basically the same thing. I plan on getting Skyjacker D25s (2.5" lift spring) and an add a leaf in the rear, this will bring both ends up 2 inches.

I dropped mine 2" in the rear to level it out. (It was high enough already) I used different u bolts and spacer blocks. Worked great and very pleased, but I've never heard of a sag kit, either.

For some reason the shop I was at related the name "sag" kits to the "leveling kits" in an apparent reference to what they called "diesel sag"...that tendancy for the trucks with diesels to look like the front end was "sagging" when compared to the same model truck with a gas engine... "Sag" kits was just the reference they used I guess... Hey "sag", "lift"....hmmm if this was a different forum the image would be a whole lot different!
