I've come up with nothing on this topic at all. The dealer is trying to figure out how to get the big breaks from the viper powerd ram to fit our trucks but I dont know if they ever will. EGR has a "blue printed" caliper that they say is better but i dont buy it.

Are any of the later ram's equipped with multi-piston brake calipers? What sized wheels do those models have? Id go to a junkyard and start with that myself. It may mean upgrading to the wheels and steering knuckles of a different year ram though. I agree the stock brakes are pitiful and the aftermarket options arent looking to be much better.
maybe theres another brake master cyl we can use on these to push more fluid?
I think single piston calipers on a big truck isnt optimal at all.

I know it's not exactly the bigger caliper and rotor option you are looking for but have you started with the GM 1 ton rear wheel cylinder upgrade?

I did the rear cylinders and am putting 19.5s on and would like a lot more stopping power when the camper is on the truck usually weigh 20,000 when maxed out with trailer.

I'm about to upgrade brakes too- tired of the crappy stock rotors and my calipers are 268k mi old. I did a lot of searching on TDR and EVERYONE has had nothing but great things to say about EGR brakes. Night and Day between stock. I'm probably gonna do EGR calipers and lines, EGR or Power Slot rotors, Napa rear shoes to save money, and 1 ton cylinders.

Also, particularly since you're towing, look into an exhaust brake. Your service brakes will last forever. -Josh

I've got EGR's full deal on my truck. Almost $5k, but it has saved my life twice.

Towing a 19,000lb trailer (without trailer brakes), I can lock up all six tires on my dually as soon as the brake pedal hits the floor. (this is with 15% on the truck as well, and 245/75 tires not the 215's)

Maybe I can get you a video of my truck.

Drilled rotors in the front, with carbon kevlar pads, and SS brake lines, a bigger cylinder in teh rear, and carbon kevlar shoes in the rear.

It stops, and stops GOOD.

Do you think the EGR system would work just as well if I did the EGR lines and calipers, but saved a little money by going w/ power slot rotors and Hawk sever duty pads, and maybe NAPA shoes?
