They do if you have a Duramax. Nothing for 2nd gen trucks. I don't think I've even seen it for any of the 3rd gens.

i just found that auto zone sail a program you can install on your computer and plug the computer into the truck and reprogram mod on your truck and unhook the computer and it stays that way suppose to be equivalent to what a chip dose. the whole set up is about $350.00 dose anyone know any thing about this?

Sounds like EFIlive for the Dmaxes... But I thought it was a lot more than $350.

no. this program is suppose to be able to make changes to the truck and stay the way you set them. suppose to be as good as a chip? i don't know. also you can use it to diagnose problems and see the performance of the engine the same stuff that a dealer or other mechanic can see with there $5000.00 snap on. i don't know any thing about it except what some one at auto zone told me. that is why I'm asking you guys about it. if i knew that it actually did all these things i would have already bought it and be playing with all day. it seems like if it did all of this then i would have herd some one here talking about it

A little Digimoto FYI:

My question:
Since my 1999 Dodge Ram has a Cummins diesel with an ECM and a PCM (one Dodge and one Cummins), what all parameters, test, etc will your product read.

Their Answer:
We cover all SAE Defined sensors and generic codes. However I am not sure what the requirements for OBDII compliance was for diesels in 99, they differ for diesels. We cannot guarantee functionality with this vehicle.

Autotap, the maker of the EFILive program is the only good laptop type OBD program out there. They also have a Palm version for quick diagnostics.

The ECM on the Dodge is not open for tampering like the GM. Hense the CATCHer ECM and Smarty by Marco. As far as I know, he is one of the only to actually re-program the OEM ECM for the CTD.

auto zone is a good place to get parts, and even a few stores have a knowledgable manager or the like. But in 95% of the cases, the guys behind the counters are morons and know very little of what they sell. JMHO

Insite and powerspec will work, but you wont get any extra ponies unless you buy a Recal Cd from cummins and it wont do what a Mad ECM will.
