If you clean and oil it according to their directions, and are confident he did, it will be fine.

My K&N drop in is sitting on the shelf in my garage along with my stock airbox.
While it's an improvement over stock, there are better options out there.

Never had dirt or debris problems when I had one. If properly oiled, should work well... and "there are better options out there", but free is hard to beat.

Please kill the Caps...it hurts my ears

Don't know about the 'cubby'.

Keep the K&N till you get over 350 hp. It's all you need. Don't clean it or oil it. Over cleaning is part of the problems many have also. Just check your intake tube from time to time. No debris...no worries..... mate.
