My 1995 dodge 1ton diesel Cummings 5.9. I try to start it sometimes it starts right up, other times it clicks a few times then starts.

 

Probably time for a set of Larry Bs contacts in the starter. Make sure all the connections are good, grounds especially.

 

I heard Ford owns cummings.....and I agree your probably due for starter contacts...easy, 3 bolts 10mm, top one is easier reached from above down past steering column, don't save it to remove last. Don't forget to pull negative side of batteries...
