Insulated Heatshield
I'm making my Heatshield for my BHAF. Has anyone ever
glued any of the foilbacked insulating material to the
heatshield to protect it from the turbo heat. Has anyone
running the BHAF with heatshield ever raised the hood and felt
how hot the heatshield got after a long hard pull , or am I
just over thinking this whole thing

I personally think that you are over thinking 
I would just put the heatshield on and not worry about the insulation although it is not a bad idea. If you really want cooler air get a scotty.
