Install of Bilstein shocks

I am think of replacing the stock shocks on my 95. Autozone seems to have the best price on Bilsteins in my area. I am just wondering how big a job it is to install these yourself?

It does not seem like it would be too difficult.

Any comments from those that have already done this?

Thanx

Re:Install of Bilstein shocks

Did get my Bilstein shoks installed a couple of days ago. My 95 still had the stock shocks on it and they were no good, leaking.

The new shocks made an amazing difference in ride quality empty, have not towed the fiver with them yet.

I recommend the Bilsteins, $49.95 each at autozone for the 2 wheel drive model. ;D

Re:Install of Bilstein shocks

I'm also considering them for my truck. Did you put 4 all around on, or only the front?

Re:Install of Bilstein shocks

I put them on all 4 corners, and it made a big difference in the ride of the truck. Just make sure you get the Heavy Duty Bilstiens and not the standard duty.

It's a simple job, just start with the driver's side front first, (it's the hardest) the lower shock bolts have a flag nut on the back side so you don't need to put a wrench on them, just a good 1/2" drive ratchet and socket. Take the shock towers completely out and slide the shock up through the spring.

On the back you may have to remove the mounting bolts for the sway bar cause Dodge put the shock bolts in the wrong way. : Other than the the rears are super easy.

Good luck.

I did all 4 wheels. From the research I did it looks like Bilstein makes a different shock for a 4 x 4 than the ones I installed.

If you still have stock on your truck,I think you will notice a big improvement in ride.
