Which Injectors?

I am fixin to order my injectors (hopefully this week) ;D but I wanted a little input first. I am debating on wether to go with the Marine 300's or possibly some 370's. Has anybody ever had any problems with either? How is the install and do I need to get my diesel tec to put them in? Also would it be wise to put a 3k GSK in first ? DTR RULES!
Thanks
Wheels

Re:Which Injectors?

My two cents:

Go straight to the 370's. Cruise EGTS are lower, WOT EGTS will be higher though.

The 300's are ok, but they have 4 very large spray holes and really dont gain much HP in the 97 when compared to 370's. The 370's will crank you up about 40HP minimum, even without gov springs. Do the gov springs though to make it all hit right. Use a 20 thou copper sealing washer, not the 60 thou. Set your injection timing at about 15.5. This is a nice increase in power.

Don~

Re:Which Injectors?

So the 370s will give me about 40hp w/ gsk but I need to watch out for the egts. Sounds like a small sacrifice for more horses ;D. I guess if theres nothing else that major that could cause problems I will order my 370s ASAP .
Thanks
Wheels

370's with a 4K kit. Even better. But then again, I'm a little extreme.

Re:Which Injectors?

4k kit sounds good but what kind of advantages does it give me over a 3k? Also how tough is a gsk to install?
Wheels

Re:Which Injectors?

I have the 300's along with a JRE plate and can say the setup really woke the truck up! EGT's are high with my setup right now - I'll hit 1400+ no problem with 32psi boost. I have to try to bump the timing up 15.5 +/-. I'm a real cheap b*@^$#*! and went with the 300's from Bully Dog ($335.00). The 375's were about another $100. One thing I've learned is that with a tight converter and the power enhancements, it's a challange to manuver in an icy parking lot in 2wd. Fuel milelage? Well, let's just say my throttle has two positions - up and down. The mileage has definately taken a hit. I can't imagine what it would be like with the 375's. You guy's running them are sick, sick, sick...

Re:Which Injectors?

I have the #10 modified plate with the 300 Inj and it works great. My MPG has gone up 2mpg. I really like the power but they are a little small for what I want I will be getting the 370 for more HP not because I don't like the 300. IMHO they are a great starter set. you get more than the 275 but not the egts of the 370. But I can still peg a 1500 guage with my modified #10 plate. all depends on what you want.

I don't know what the differences in smoke are between the 300 and 370's but my 300 really throw the smoke so I hope I get more with the 370's
just my 1/10 of a cent.

P/S I dynoed 295.6hp with the un-modified #10 plate and the 300's. plate was in stock position. I think I forgot to mark it when I took the stocker out. [undecided]

Re:Which Injectors?

Having had both I would go straight to the 370's if I had it to do over again. The 300's had the same amount of smoke and alot less power. And Don M is right about the egt's being lower with the 370's.

Re:Which Injectors?

I'd still go with the 4K kit. Granted, you have to install valve springs, but you get fueling up to 4000rpm instead of 3200. Plus, if you install an exhaust brake, you are going to need to change the exhaust springs anyways.

Re:Which Injectors?

If I just go with the 3k (for cash flow reasons) cant I just go back and buy the valve springs seperate. ???
