I got toasted by a PowerStroke!!!

I know I don't have much (just a VA box) but my buddy toasted me in mid-range fun on the road the other day in his '04 PS. That hurts....

Assuming the numbers add up correctly, he is still higher in HP than I am but maybe he's heavier??? I don't know, but of course I gave him the ol' "I was takin' it easy on ya" line, but he was rompin' me.

Guess its time for some injectors....wonder if a set of 275s would take him out? I can't go whole hog as I got to drive her to work daily, plus being married it's hard to "justify" the expense...I could always loosen an injector and use the ol' "oops, must be broke, have to replace it" line

I don't understand why people get so suprised when we get smoked by a late model PSD and any Dmax. They are fast! Your buddies 6NO is quick, even stock. It takes a lot of power out of the Cummins, especially from lower power 2nd gens, to catch up and/or beat them.

You'll probably need more than 275's....I'd go with Mach 1.6's. You'll need at least 100HP over stock to beat your buddies stock truck.

There some things even the Lord doesn't need to know about! Shhhhh!!!

I hate those turds in PSD's. They ARE fast and they are usually auto-shifters! I can't shift gears fast enough! I can out pull them, out torque them, out drive them, and out off-road them, but I can't beat 'em off the line.

A 2800rpm 4wd 2nd gear launch will get my truck moving in a hurry. The problem is I get an adrenalin rush and miss 3rd gear sometimes...by then it's too late.

My 01 HO 6 speed with Mach 1.6s and EDGE Juice on Level one, AFE and 4" straight pipe runs the same quarter mile as my roommates 04 LB7 D-Max with 150 hp hot juice, AFE, 4" exhaust. His tranny protests after a run or two.

When I tap the pump wire I will be able to go by him.

And that is with rowing the gears. If I had an auto, it would be all over.

Both trucks have 35" tires(he has a 6" lift) but he has the Allison.

He stomps on me by a second and a half in the 0-60 but I catch up and run real close in the 1/4.

He must be a terrible driver because that is a 14 sec truck in capable hands.

One of my friends has an 05 powerstroke he bought a superchip down loader the rest is stock. He will leave my 98 in the dust from a roll or a stop very upsetting.

Challenge them to a race with equally loaded trailers. The V-8's are hot rods, rev quick but no guts.

14 sec truck with 35" tires and 6" lift at 5000 ft elevation?

Truck is not mint and run pretty hard

The thing, stock, was so gutless it couldn't get out of its own way. And its on the 2nd tranny in 70k.

I'm not real impressed

The 6.0s are quick if you can keep them running

There was a 2500 D'max killing himself to get up beside me today in heavy traffic. I kept puffing big clouds of pre-spool on him. I know they're pretty fast, I'm not up for racing one just yet. After the comp maybe I'll give it a try.

After all, I AM just trying to set my truck up for towing. Who needs to drive fast anyway. That's what I keep telling myself.

With a Comp you will win

With the VanAaken, assuming he has the Juice or something in that power range, you will be close.

I hate letting PSD's and Duramaxes run away from me empty but I get my revenge when heading to the desert towing my toybox passing them up 6% grades like they are standing still! I get a good chuckle when I usually see at least two 6.no's pulled over with their hood up on the trip home. Gotta love Cummins
