hy35/hx35

Are the exhaust housings interchangeable between a hy35 and a hx35?

Thanks, Aaron

No

The HY uses a clamped housing and the HX uses four bolts to hold the housing to the cartridge.

I know they suck, I didn't want one for my truck, but maybe a turbo car

I really liked the durability. I beat the snot out of mine for a long time. 40psi and all kinds of colors later the turbo took everything in stride.

In fact I have never heard of anyone breaking a shaft. (2001-2002 only)

They are a better design then the HX's. They do not have a split exhaust housing so the wastegate will waste the exhaust gas of all 6 cylinders.

Better design, but just not big enough to move the air needed to keep the EGT's down.
