Is an HX35W turbo an upgrade over a stock 91 NON- I/C??
the 91 has an 18.5cm now??

Just curious because I have a chance to pick up on one pretty cheap off a 95 CTD, thanx, DAVE

Yes it would be an upgrade, there would be some tricks to hook it up. The HX-35 has a flange on the compressor outlet, thats going to make it a little tricky to hook up to the crossover pipe. Also the turbo down pipe has to be moved back about an inch because of the wastegated housing.

If this if the stock turbo off a 95 it should be a WH1C which is equivilent to a HX35, but is constructed alittle differently.

the effeciency range of teh hx is higher psi than your stock.
but if you just looking to spool her up quicker. just change the 18.5cm exhaust hausing to a 16 or 14 and your off and running.

with the hx you also get to remove the scilencer ring

If your handy with tools get the hx35 ,it will light up fast and it will make the truck fun to drive I installed a 16 and there is little diff. from stock + your egts will be better with the HX

you will need to move the down pipe back 1 1/4 " and build a cross over if you look at my pictures you will see a home made cross over
good luck

Yeah but i might be able to get this new HX35 ($150) cheaper than just a smaller replacement housing?? . the exhaust mod is no problem for me and the other adaption(inlet?) can most likely be bought from one of the aftermarket intercooler guys. I also plan to install an intercooler so i better get used to fabbing pipes and tubes. thanx and keep giving feedback cause I'm JUST starting to look into upgrades. I definitely plan on big, open exhaust and Better injectors. thanx , DAVE
