Wanted to update you guys on my turbo findings. As some of you may remember I bought a 64/14 HTT 71 Series. The lag was horrible and the boost was low, only 37 or so and temps off the charts. Some of you, a few in particluar made some great suggestions which I appreciate. I went back to HTT and explained my problem. They wanted to get me into a 66. I said no way and asked if they could put together a 62/12. They put an HTB2 62/12 together for me and had me try it. Let me just say it is exactly what I wanted to begin with. With Smarty on catcher8 and juice on 6, much better spool, I easily reached the wastegate setting at 42 psi and heard it bypassing exhaust, smoke much cleaner and temps lower. Now I know what to have them build for me. I am hoping that because I am downsizing the turbo and paid much more for the 64/14, that they will get me into a SS62/12. We shall see. I am grateful for all the input, and thanks to HTT for working with me on this.

 

That is great! I knew you would be happier with a 62 turbo. Wait till you try the SS62.....you will love it for sure. This is very common for guys to either get to big of a turbo or injectors...then find out that the truck is no fun & no longer does what they bought the truck to do. I was on that boat....very bad currents & no tail wind.

 

If the 62/12 does just what you want then why do you want something else??
There hasn't been a lot of feedback on it yet, but you could try their new 13 stainless housing.
