Howards Cool Down Timer Review
Howards Cool Down Timer Review
I installed one on my truck tonight. I ordered it thursday night or friday night and received it today. I bought the custom one so you could mount it anywhere. I mounted mine in the kick panel above my CB (I'll get pics later). The install was very simple. Drill the holes for the switches and what not and then hook up the wires. He includes the fuse taps and what fuses to hook into. The only difference in the directions I had was the hole for the button had to be drillied to a 1/2" instead of a 3/8" hole like the directions said. I also figured out that if the washer falls out that's not supposed to, just put it back in the #3 hole. The number holes tell the switch how many clicks to make. Other than that it was a very easy install. Took me about 1hr working slow. I highly recommend this mod. Just make sure you put the start button and LED in the right position so the sticker works.
I need more information? In the last sentence it ends with "sticker" is that a typo?
How does it work? Where do you get it? How much is it?
I take it , it keeps the truck running for a period of time, after you remove the key?
How long? Adjustable?

No, the sticker isn't a typo. The sticker has all the positions for the rotary switch and tells you what button starts it. I put the start button on the wrong side so now I can't put the sticker on the dash telling me what's what. Oh well. Now I can tell people it's my adjustable propane controller.
The timer hooks up to a constant hot and the engine fuse (#13 on my truck, he tells you which fuse to use). When you arrive at your destination, you set the dial to how many minutes you want it to run, push the start button, turn the keys off, and walk away. It's that easy. You can buy it from the DTR store for $95.
You can have it run for 2, 4, or 6 minutes.

Looks good man, how do you think this one would compare to the Turbo LifeSaver?

Hey pass'n gas, you hit it right on the ****, this SOB use'd to tell me the exact thing. After living w/ him for almost a year, I guess he got jealous of mine and had to get the same thing. Well atleast his turbo will live a tab bit longer now.
