how much nitrous
how much nitrous
ok this is what i am currently running. SPS64/14, edge DRAG box, 170hp sticks, ported polished head with studs and o-rings. how much will i benefit from adding nitrous to this setup. i mean i dont have a HUGE trail of smoke with the new turbo but its a pretty good trail. i took the HRVP off and its going on another truck so my setup listed above is pretty much it besides tranny, intake and exhaust. what do you guys think in my setup. Nitrous or Water-Meth. lookin for most HP.
talk to jetpilot possibly, he has helped alot of guys get some nice nitrous set-up working...
our last dyno event he was helping with 2 trucks in the 780-790hp range...both 24v's
also, just add nitrous until it starts to pop like a AK47 going off at WOT and lift the head, then turn it back one notch LOL

inline6power and CTD_Neil:
I realize this thread is a little "old". CTD_Neil, you had a good thought on bringing back to the top if you are interested in the power gains from NOS.
There is no doubt that Doug Smith (Jetpilot) is VERY good at setting up the NOS systems on the diesel trucks! I watched him a few years ago at "Thunder in Muncie" run a 12.1 at 121 MPH with his old 2001 Dodge CTD 24valve which at the time had a Edge Drag Comp., a single 1st Gen "B-1 Turbo",
very large BD-5's (later to the 8's) and a full DTT Tranny. Now, 12.1 may not sound like much, but back then that was pretty fast.
I wanted to let you know that as far as a whole NOS System, it does not take much to get near 100 H.P. My son, John Jr. (banshee) is running a simple "NX Express" System on his 2004 Dodge CTD CR and is running one solenoid, with two (2) nozzles using a Hobbs Switch and with small jetting (about a 55 shot between the two) he sees 85 RWHP from his system! He also runs a bottle heater but besides that, that is it. I don't believe he has over $500.00 in the system either!
Hope this helps you guys some.

inline6power:
Sounds like you are on the right track with your plans!
As you pointed out, a "single stage system" can get you to where you want to be for sure.
You asked about my son's set-up. He is running a single solenoid, but with two (2) nozzles similar to the set-up you described. And yes, he has his NOS System on the whole length of the 1/4 mile!

Either there, or in right in the air horn.
