How much fuel?

How much fuel will the HX35 take and still work with a cold air intake and factory straight piped exhaust.

I have another thread goin about mild tranny build ups but I have a couple other questions.I'm wanting a 96-98 12v auto (like to have a stick) and the mods I've planned are:

#11 plate
3000 gsk springs
gauages
cold air
exhaust

I know you can add some timin and slide the AFC and crank the star screw. Now from hear I understand slidin the AFC and crankin the star screw is the same thing but how much could I crank the screw or slide the AFC forward before I run into EGT porblems.

I'd like to be able to just be at a stand still, put the pedel to the floor and not have the EGTs go over, what 1350 before 65-75 MPH somethin like that bewfore I have to back out of it, is that possible with the stock HX35 or will I need a 16cm turbo housin.

I don't want to have to swap turbos and I'd like to do as little to the tranny as possible (i.e. good TC and a shift kit) but I need to know what to look into.

look at my sig i have pretty much the same setup but with a #6 plate and no gsk and i can only hit 1000-1100 egts my boost is too high though im at 40psi. you should be fine with those mods without having to get a 16cm housing. get a number 10 plate people seem to like those alot

If you are talking about a 96-98 automatic, i would suggest a #10 plate, and with the GSK, exhaust, and intake, and gauges you will have an awesome running combo that should be fine with EGT's. A #11 would probably be fine, but go ahead and get the #10, and you can slide it back some if you dont want as much horsepower, or forward for more. I have a #5 plate in my truck. It runs pretty darn good, but I can be at 1450 degrees by the time i get to 65mph. My plate doesent defuel any on the top end(the #10 does), and I think thats why I have this problem. I went to a 16cm turbo housing, and it did no good for EGT's. Just slide the AFC housing full forward, and your starwheel as many clicks towards the engine as it will go, and you'll be fine. The position/face of the plate is what determines your EGT's because that determines how much fuel you get. So if you drop in a #10, 3k GSK, exhaust, cold air intake and gauges with about 16.5 degrees of timing you will be fine on EGT's i think. I have not run that combo yet, but everyone ive talked to that has, has no problems with it, and has very manageable EGT's from what i hear. You definatley shouldnt need a turbo swap, but i wouldnt really reccomend the 16cm housing, because it did no good for me with my truck. Also, i have the 160hp pump which is 20hp less than what your looking at. Good luck

Also, a shift kit will really help(helped mine a lot). and a better torque converter should put you in good shape. Im looking for a better converter right now. Good luck

We just returned from Fl and had same results....high egt loaded. Even on return trip pulling dual tamdem trailer w/forklift with gross wt at 17,000 our egt would climb to 1100 -1200 easily on a small incline at 70 mph. If you backed it off to 60-65 really helped. If it was a hill of say 1/2 to 1 mile we redlined the egt. Going south we were grossing 28,320 and had to watch egt at all times. mainly drove 60-65 mph. On Jellio Mt on I75 (7 miles long 3-6% grade) we topped at 50 mph at 1/2 throttle and egt at 1300 engine temp at 210 in 5 the gear. If we could get egt lower we could have topped it at 70+ easily. As I have stated before mpg is 9.5 loaded (about 1/2 mpg less thatn stop plate) BUT mpg empty is 11 and thats when not getting on it! Thinking of going back to stock plate to increase fuel milage. Anyone else had any experience with mpg and changing plates? We have 4:10 gears..
