how much can it hold

well since I blew my head gasket, im trying to decide how to put it back together. I may be putting on twins in the future, but most likly just a 40 or b1. i want 500-550. would a marine head gasket and studs hold a small set of twins with high timing. what about a larger single? I want to get it oringd but it'll cost an extra 600 and I cant afford the down time, but i dont want to blow the head again either.

By far o-ring is the way to go. I have a copper gasket on mine and it holds all the boost i can throw at it. My buddy has the same gasket and he can peg his boost guage at 60 with no problems. I ma not sure what they are rated for but I would look into those. I dont know how much a set of twins would put out but if you push it too hard it will blow a copper gasket. I would say save up some money and spoil yourself on the o-rings or fire rings, IMHO.

O-ringing a head should only cost you $300, 600 is way too high. I would recomend to get it o-ringed while you are in there, that way you wont have to worry about it down the road.
