Good morning all,
I just installed my new boost gauge yesterday, and after letting her warm up I nailed it from a stop. Max boost was 24psi. Turned O/D off, nailed it again, and 24psi. Tried it on a hill from a dead stop. Broke tires loose and rear end went side to side, still only 24psi. I drilled and tapped the air horn, ran line through grommet and up to "A" pillar, no kinks or binds. All intercooler boots are tight, saw no cracks or splits. I thought with my mild mods I would still see 30-35psi boost. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

 

That sounds to me like 24 psi is where your waste gate is set at. Did you install a boost elbow? That would allow you to build more boost. Seems like your engine is happy with the boost though. Do you get a lot of smoke at full boost? If not, I would leave it alone for now.

I can see no smoke from a get go, nor at WOT. I would like some smoke, but can see none in the mirror. I used the boost elbow that came with the box, but I bought it secondhand. Maybe I should try another elbow.

 

Tiny, if you're not seeing smoke, more boost won't help. Sounds like you have all the boost you need. More fuel will give you some smoke and possibly more boost.
