lots of fuel and twins. Once you get to 700rwhp with a 12v, you'll have one of the fastest trucks around. The 12v trucks are faster for the same HP as the 24v trucks. A worked P pump thats been tweaked and tuned is the hot secert. Once you get decent fuel delivery, you'll need lots of air.

Biggest problem with the 12V is the poor flow in the head. You can have some porting work done and add a cam to help spool and breathe on top.
Its hard to make power without lots of smoke on these trucks. Youll want to set your plate and AFC to limit smoke for street use.
You could run a big single and some nitrous but obviously for street use youll need twins.

My brother drives his 716rwhp '97 daily, on fuel only with a single turbo. It would be a lot easier with twins, but it is doable with a single.

yeah i was thinking about doing twins for sure. and i dont mind the smoke at all, kinda like it honestly. just wanted to know what else i would have to do besides the obvious tranny rebuild bigger turbo, bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump, head studs, etc... anything else that would make it easier and even a little cheaper that i dont know about?

Once John P see's this I'm sure he will give you some pointers. I think he is over 800hp with a daily driver.

Just as others have said...700 can be done and daily driven...Give Bret a call at Left Coast Diesel....97 736Hp..on a single and daily driven....Great guy, good friend, and knows his stuff.

He is really making great progress with his P-pumps and finding more and more ways to gain HP from them...

He is set up to spray and does ever so often but if I remeber correctly his last few dyno's and track times were without spray....he hit mid 600's and tweaked his pump...hit 680's and tweaked it some more...hit 705 and tweaked it again and now I THINK he is hitting 720-730 consistantly.

what brand of injectors, pump, and twins would youll suggest to go with on this one? and who will do a good job with a fair price on a tranny rebuild?

If I was going to get a pump Id go with a scheid build. Then maybe some DDP injectors for low smoke. I like the industrial twins, but thats just me. BD, Piers, etc. theyre all pretty good.

For a great twin set up i would look at stainlessdiesel.com. Industrial buys alot of kits from him. Dusty from HTS has a excellent trans. Good luck and keep us posted
