How to Lower Egt's?
Just finished upgrades, (check out sig) I can easily hit 1400 EGT. I haven't been able to hit WOT without going over 1400. I back off as soon as I get above 1300. Are there any easy solutions for lowering EGT's?

Whats your exhaust like? A 4-5" system will be less restrictive, something to get cooler (and more) air in would be help out too. After that you are looking at a turbo.

egt's
I bought the truck w/ a 4" exhaust, I just measured it, I thought it was stock. It will run 60 mph at 600-800 degrees if I keep my foot out of it. But I'm exited in having just put this stuff in and I'm too afraid to get into it for more then a couple seconds because it climbs to 1300 fast.
How to get more air in cooler??

If it were me? On your truck, I'd look into a BHAF (do a search). You can get the filter for fairly cheap, I ran a pre-filter on mine and made up a heat shield from a template on this site.
Here's what it looked like on mine old one:

lighter foot
I'm going to have to get a lighter shoe before I spend the chang on a turbo, or get divorced before I get married.
BHAF looks easy enough, does it really help that much?

You might check out High Techs modifed stock chargers. Like their 35/40 Hybrids. They are less pricey than the S300 style chargers. And they could modify yours and return it.

Ummm...how about bumping the timing first. Go to a local diesel shop and for less than $200 they'll set your timing at whatever you want, I'd go to 16.5 or 17* with your setup, other than that, get an HX-40 Compressor wheel and housing and that will help a lot.

explain timing
Timing?? Can someone elaborate on what that is doing? effects, affects, pros cons??
From my experience when one thing changes is has an effect on the rest of the chain. I'm also not well versed on timing in deisels, gassers yes, but diesels no.

boost
about 10 psi at 60 mph. my guage peaks at 30, I can get this at 3/4 throttle. So I'm sort of guessing what it is when I stomp on it but if I had to, as I do in this case, peak 40 psi. Based on the rate it climbs and then slows a little to achieve 30 psi.

on this thread.. too much fuel plus an inefficient turbo equals high EGTS
Timing also helps, think of timing as moving your powerband up a bit further in the RPM range, if you have a GSK the timing will be a real treat. I went to 16.5 degrees and it helped my mileage by about 1-2 mpg.... IE stock timing is powerful up to about 2800 or so rpms with a 4K kit, my truck with the 4K kit (GSK) with 16.5 felt like it lost a bit on the lower end, BUT it gained much more on the top end farther out to about 3400 rpms or so...

Where did you measure 4" at? The tailpipe flares out to 4" on stock setups for the last 2 feet. Are you sure it is a true 4" system? Best way to check is to look at the exhaust downpipe connected to the back of the turbo. If it flares out in the first inch or so, it is a true 4" system, if it is the same size from the turbo down to where it goes out of sight, it is the stock exhaust. A true 4" will slow the rate of EGT climb, but as previously stated, a way overfueled truck responds best to a proper sized turbo.
