How do I work it?
How do I work it?
Well guys I jumped the fence and bought me a 12v
Anyway its got a BD torque lock switch and a BD retard switch in the cab with a BD exhaust brake. I dont have a clue how to work it? Anybody got this stuff that can tell me how it works?
Do you think they would have installed the 60# springs also?

The 98 should have the newer high capacity valve springs, so that is not a problem at all.
The torque converter lock is just that, it will lock the converter when you are on the highway. Use it when you are under way and trip the exhaust brake, it keeps the converter from overheating.
As far as the exhaust brake is concerned, that is a great addition for people that tow. What it allows you to do is convert engine compression to a brake to let you descend hills with out banging on the brake pedal. It also will enable you to warm the engine on cold days in a minute or less by flipping it on when the truck is first started. Just remember to turn it off before driving.
The BD-power.com website has good information on the brake and how to keep it serviced. They do carbon up and will require attention about once a year to keep it in good working order.

Thanks RCW I will see what I can find off their website. I might have to drive out there and talk to them its just I havent had very good dealings with them in the past.
I have the BD valve body, TC and controller and a Jakobs exhaust brake right on the turbo. Lock out O/D (I was told by the previous owner your not supposed to EB in O/D) flip on the TC switch then the EB and in a sec I'm hearing BRRRRRRRRRRRR LOL if I hit the throttle the brake cuts and the engine runs up as normal, let off BRRRRRR (love that sound
) mine is also works with the cruise, lockup, EB on set cruise to you desired decent speed, you can also EB in second but every thing will kick off below 35 MPH no matter what gear. need at least around 2000 rpm for good effect and it gets better as RPM increases. I would think if the put all the other parts on they would have done the valve springs (if they needed doing) too but it sounds like it's easy to check
