Help with fuel pressure gauge install.

I have everything wired correctly. My problem is that I cannot seem to tap my schrader valve to send fuel to the sending unit. I'm new to this process, but do I have to unkey the valve? I have a white plastic thing that has a butt end and a small stem with a notch on the end. Do I use this to take out something in that valve? I know, I'm a rookie. I will appreciate some help here.

Okay, update. I used the stem removal tool and took out the schrader valve stem to get the fuel out. Is that right? Fuel was dripping out and I hooked up the hose again then my gauge was reading 16 psi. Is there any problem with removing the schrader valve stem?
