went to change coolant today, and there was sludge in the cap, and oil on top of the coolant


checked the oil and it was down about 1/2 quart (check it a week ago and it was fine)


drove it some more and noticed that the top radiator hose was hard as a rock (excessive pressure)


no coolant in the oil, no white smoke, no hard starting etc, no noticeable leaks around the head.

oil cooler or head gasket?

 

I would think it is a bad HG. Don't think oil cooler would pressurize the cooling system.

 

I vote oil cooler.

 

HG i have the same problem.. but no oil?
