head bolts......

can someone tell me how many head bolts there are so i dont miss any when i go to retorque?are they all the same size therefore all get the same 133ft lbs? or a diagram would work too... thanks

26. Spiral out from the center when torqueing. All the same size. The long ones will turn more to reach the same torque as the short bolts.

thanks none are hidden somewheres that I might have trouble finding? do I gotta take stuff off/apart to get to them all aside from the valve covers?

None of the headbolts are hidden. You will be able to see them all.
I suggest torquing them in the order Cummins specifies at Tate pointed out.
You can Google that information and a picture will come up to show you the exact order.

i put a dab of paint on each bolt to keep track after the final torque.

if your doing a re-torque check them all several times.

operation succesful! u have no idea how stressful it is watching those bolts keep turning and turning as ur trying to hit 133 lb ft but none broke and all felt really solid and not spongy. did notice that the outside most row of bolts on the exhaust end didnt really move a lot during the whole process whereas the short intake side bolts seemed to turn way more for some reason. but anyways i can now breathe. thanks for all the tips guys
