I'm doing mine with mechanical control referenced from drive pressure. Start point will be in the 9cm range with an electric solinoid to pull into e-brake mode. Some cutting drilling tapping and welding and it bolts up like it gre there:) Some pics if anyone's interested:

just a quick thought... the drive pressure will be pushing aginst the veins correct? if thats how it works, it could be done with something as simpile as finding the correct spring to pull on the actuator arm, holding it closed, and allowing to open as drive pressure increases, and thoughts?

G1625S 05-03-2010 05:36 PM

Yes, it has been shown that drive pressure will open the 'collar' on the vgt, so a simple spring could, in theory, do the trick. I'm going to try the drive pressure referenced route since it is somewhat proven, and adapt my ideas from there. Should at least run this week....haven't driven my old hoss in over 10 weeks:(

TTT How crisp is your throttle response and drivability of the fleece controller? Does it know when to cruise and relieve backpressure, yet pick up boost quickly when hit with some throttle? Black smoke should be gone If it can stay small enough to built psi to clean up the fuel and gradually, how fast is the exhaust brake? Does it gradually come on or can you speed it up?

Spool is almost as good as stockDoes it know when to cruise and relieve backpressure, yet pick up boost quickly when hit with some throttle? It doesn't recognize its in cruise, per say, but the exhaust housing does open up. I ran cruise this morning on the way to work. Smarty level 5, 220 injectors, cruise was smooth as glass.Black smoke should be gone If it can stay small enough to built psi to clean up the fuel and gradually,Yup I can drive mine smoke free how fast is the exhaust brake? It can be as fast as you want it to be Does it gradually come on or can you speed it up?Both, depends on how you tune it

^^^^^^^^Bolded. The controller has a fully tunable MAP, if you were to order one, you could talk to Fleece and see what some good settings were.

How are you cooling the electronics?

Duallydog 09-06-2010 11:08 PM

johnnyb59, are you running it with the e-brake switch on and using the dial to build boost faster? I just put it on mine and got everything up and running a few hours ago and only got to play with it for about 20 minutes combined. Seems like having the e-brake switch off would be good only if you plan on being at full throttle all of the time and need the flow. On mine it acts like the switch being on utilizes half of the turbo while having the switch off uses the last 25% of the nozzle travel.

johnyb59 09-07-2010 02:21 PM

I am cooling my electronics with the trucks cooling system. I have it tied in with the heater core lines. I do not however run the e brake switch. I hope to upgrade mine this weekend.

Where did you find the 16mm fittings for the water line to the turbo?
