What kinda cam would be considered 'mild'?

I had read in the past that there really isnt a towing/mild cam.
That they are more for hittin that bigger power mark.

Any drop in cam would be concidered mild. With a drop in cam, you wont see a huge power increase on the dyno..maybe 35-40hp, but what you will get is lower egts, quicker spool up, and a broader powerband since you will start making more power sooner.

I picked up abit of mileage with my camshaft install. Sounds odd. You make sure that the marks line up on the gears? If you go for the fly cut piston camshaft, you should also do lots of porting on the head. These ctd head don't flow air very well. Try another tank and see what happens.

Just about any cam out there is a drop in. Anything that requires piston cutting would likely be labeled as a competiton cam and have a disclaimer about needing such. It used to be billet cams needed cam bearings installed in the block, but both Hamilton/Colt and F1 have billets that can be used without bearings.

Any links out there?
I tried looking up Hamilton Cams and all I could get was a contact us page. No product.
And I can find very little about other cams on differant diesel sales sites.

How deep is the bolt drilled? Any issues with the cam gear walking off the camshaft, for a big pump high rpm engine?

ya iam sure the timing is right on, the truck runs great and does fine i just dont know why it is using more fuel i would have thought for sure it would have used less fuel. maybee it is just trying to tell me it needs a bigger turbo so it can move more efficent air!!!!!!!!!!!!!
