gsk question

hey everyone im looking at putting the 3000 gsk in my truck im in the process of puttin some new body panels on and a new coat of paint and thought it would be a good edition to my truck just wondering if i can get away with it with my stock transmission, i don't have any other mods other than the ones listed in my sig. thanks for all the input

no mods to it at all it has a new tc put in about 1500 miles ago but its just a stock one

A tc? So it's automatic.

Depending on where you adjust your zero plate, you already have enough mods to destroy it. However, higher RPMs from a 3Kgsk won't hurt your tranny. It requires torque to hurt it, not RPMs.

ok cool thanks im not sure where it is adjusted it came like that when i bought it so im gonna have to look when i do the gsk, but thank you for the advise i didnt want to buy it unless i knew my trans could take it, because i def dont have the money for a new trans espcially the one i would like

It is somewhat harder on it because a stock trans shifts around 2700 but the stock governor quits fueling at 2100-2200 so the trans makes its shift at less than full torque you also have to use a lot on throttle to get a stock gov to 2700 so your trans is at near full pressure with a 3000gsk you will use substantially less throttle to get there so less pressure. but a 0 plate is already more than enough to cook it so go for it.

lol, thank yea i ordered it yesterday im doin it, if my tranny goes it goes just hope it lasts me the summer and i will get a performance one later when the money is right which i hope is this summer, but at least i will have some fun doin it
