Just got my 3 gsk in the mail. before i tear into it. any tips / tricks i need to know that will make it a smooth operation?

once installed, do i need to mess with my plate or star wheel again, or should they be fine where they are?

Well ALOT of people swear by going in through the side of the pump but I just couldn't see what I was doing to do that. I went through the top, and aside from a few butt clinching moments it went smooth. If u go through the top here's a write up I did awhile ago below, u have alot better view from the top, and I just stuffed a paper towel in the pump in case I dropped anything it would just land on the paper towel. But it's up to u, because u might feel comfortable going in through the side, but I wasn't, and the top was easy to see what ur doing. So take a look at the plug on the side of the pump and if u feel like thats easier for u, go for it that way.
