Gonna dyno again!!!

Hey all, just got done putting the Vulcan big line kit on, along with a Holley Blue pusher. It buries my 16psi Westach gauge, so it is time to order a bigger one. While putting the fittings on the factory lift pump, I noticed the MAP sensor plug hanging down The Comp never got hooked up again after the VP died. So when we were all done, we took it for a ride. AND WHAT A RIDE!!! I can now black out two lanes of traffic with thick black smoke. For any of you that were at Kauffmans, all I got was a puff of black smoke, now it is pouring. And I can hit almost 38 lbs of boost if I hold it to the floor. I know that is too much for a HX35, but it is now running like all the mods should make it! I will be back for the Spring Fling!!

Brandon, I will be in Florida then. Would love to come, and maybe if we come back early I will try to make it. Wife would be mad if we came back early just so I could dyno, so we will have to wait and see.

Yeah, I'd recommend a happy wife on vacation instead of hanging out with diesel buddies.

Well Tiny, with my fuel issue solved (got min 25 psi @ WOT) and my wastegate properly adjusted, I can get 36-38 psi now. Still not much smoke, but I don't want a ton. Still got to move the plate fully forward too.

She won't spin off the line straight, but if ya ease down on the brake and fuel pedal at the sma eimte, she'll light em up.

Question about Fuel PSI. I have heard that running in excess of 18 to 20 can damage the injector pump? Is there any truth to that?

TRCM, glad to hear you are getting the kinks worked out!! Mine is blowing good smoke now, but limited by the 275s. As far as fuel pressure goes, the more pressure and volume you can get to the VP44, the cooler it runs. I need to get a larger gauge, but I would say I am running around 20psi at idle, and cannot pull it below 15psi WOT. No hard start issues, so I am not too worried. That is what the return valve is for.
