Glacier Kit Install Time?

I will be purchasing a Glacier kit in the VERY near future and was wondering what the typical install time was? How about difficulty on a 1-10 scale? My 99 2500 has only 45K on it but I don't want to be stranded on some mountain road in the boonies! My FP gauge is in the mail as well!!

The toughest part of installing the Glacier kit used to be the dorman connector on the tank sending unit. As I understand it, this has been replaced by just chopping into the existing siphon line from the tank, so it should cut the time down substantially.
It will still take a little bit of time, depending where you decide to mount the pump, but even if you are 75% thumbs, probably a couple hours at most. It took me more than that but I am extremely picky about how things go together.
Side note, watch the JIC fittings on the regulator, the T and the filter adaptor. Make sure these are perfectly clean when you put them together, and do not overtorque them. Also, make sure to use the pre-filter FF5079 I believe. It is an inline filter that looks much like a 3/8 gas filter. BUT, it isn't, it is just a screen within a casing. This can save your pump from picking up debris from the tank.

Good luck with it, let me know how it goes.

I also put in a ball valve so I don't get drenched by diesel when I change the inline filter. To me it was deciding where to mount things so I could have good access later.

Sounds like a good idea. How often do you change that inline filter? For your ball valve did you just use a standard water valve with brass hose barbs and hose clamps??
