Question Gauges

I am looking at getting the Autometer C2 gauges for my pickup. Can anybody give me any advice about other gauges? What is the temp range I should be looking at for my transmission, PSI/Vac for my boost and temp for my PYRO?

you won't have any use for a compound boost gauge.

I run the phantoms my boost is 0-60 psi and my pyro goes up to 1600 I would also add a fuel press gauge to your list IMO that is one of the most important gauges next to pyro

I'd go 0-1600 on the pyro. If you are doing short blasts, pegging the pyro isn't a real issue, and if you're towing, temps below 1600 will cause harm. Good to have your average reading in the middle of the range.

Boost 0-60, unless twinned, then go 0-100
Pyro 0-1600, maybe 0-2000 if you really want it
FP 0-100 on a 12v, 0-30 on a 24v
trans, I have no idea, never been a concern for me.

The thumb rule for all mechanical guages is that they're only really accurate in the middle 1/3 of the range. For instance: a 60 psi boost guage will be most accurate between 20 and 40 psi. How much beyond stock do you expect to take your truck?

Randy.

i agree that 1600 is plenty hot but i see temps up to 1400 degrees so i figured the 2400 would be alright and its the only one they had in the style i got

Here's mine

EGT - up to 1600
Boost - up to 35
Mechanical fuel pressure - up to 100
Trans - up to 250 (I think)

My boost gauge is too low for some, but I really like it because with normal driving the needle noticeably moves around.

For pressure gauges, I wouldn't trust an electrical one. Some of them come with isolators, those are even worse.

I run full electrics in both trucks, no real issues to speak of.

I had the C2's and they looked great, but were WAY too bright at night. Make sure to get a dimmer with them, so you can still have the dash lights on, and you'll love them.

Guages?

What gauges do you prefer, on my old Chevy I had trans, pyro, and boost. Most of you are saying i should have pyro, boost, and fuel? Or should I find a place for all four?

Where are you placing your sending units? Ie.. Exhaust manifold, transmission pan, exhaust side of turbo, fuel pump?
